================== (beginning) NJBinfo, June 7, 1994 ===================== NOT JUST BIBLES: Not Just Bibles is a number of projects designed to assist Christians and who are interested locate the wealth of Christian resources that are available on the Internet. Other thoughtful inquirers are welcomed. Our main purposes are: (a) to help you locate what we have been able to document thus far, (b) by so doing, to encourage the development of your navigational skills, (c) and to provide support for developing God-given skills to the purpose He has called you. Our name, Not Just Bibles (NJB), reflects our objective to map the var- iety and wealth of projects, information, and research tools that ex- tend far beyond one's initial association of the Internet to "Christian resources": Bible concordance software and online WAIS Bible search utilities. Although these are very important tools that we do report upon to some extent in NJB, our explorations showed us that more re- sources were available, and revealed the need to document them more thoroughly. We are also beginning to realize that Christian sources are developing so quickly that it is difficult for a small team like ours to stay on top of all recent developments. John, Linda and I hope that the exist- ence of NJB projects will serve to give you an idea of what exists, and thereby prove that it is worth the effort to find them. We are con- tinuing our search, and hope that you will become fellow travellers. The NJB Team is John Brubaker, Linda Kreitz, Gary Bogart, and you, our brothers and sisters in Christ. Our resources and our time are focused upon and limited to conservative, orthodox, evangelical Christianity. We have discovered in developing NJB that much more can be accom- plished as a team than can be accomplished independently. We know there is much room for improvement, and that with the help of folks with an eye toward cooperative effort, and a vision for "what can be accomplished", Not Just Bibles will be an accurate and comprehen- sive resource for everyone. In order to accomplish this end, we need all the help we can get. If you know a well-established organization that may be inter- ested in Internet storage, or people who would like to devote time securing permission and/ or preparing text, we would very much like to discuss the possibilities with you. 10. E-MAIL COMMUNICATION: Should you have questions or comments about Not Just Bibles projects, our official e-mail address is: Not Just Bibles . Please include "NJB" at the begining of the subject line so we don't lose track of your request. If our official address is not working, please feel free to forward your correspondence to Gary Bogart , or Linda Kreitz . Due to a very heavy mail load, we are unable to provide system- specific assistance. We regret that we don't have intimate knowledge of every particular system, network support, and software. Therefore we suggest that those needing this kind of help will find that the most direct and promising line of information is your network admin- istration. We will be happy to provide help when possible, but ask that you first seek your administrator or a helpful friend who are more apt to know how your system works. If there is anyone out there who has the experience, and who would like to use your skills to help others in this regard, be advised that people need your help, and that is "a job in the making." May the Lord bless you in His excellent way. The NJB Team ------------- John Brubaker Linda Kreitz Gary Bogart ==================== (end) NJBinfo, June 7, 1994 ========================
