ARTHUR BLESSITT: THE MAN WHO CARRIED THE
CROSS AROUND THE WORLD
A world filled with war, hatred, hunger, greed, selfishness, vengeance, and so many other terrible things, we know something is wrong! With others - with oneself. Why? The Holy Bible (a book that reveals Gods truth to people) declares that even though God made a perfect world the first two people Adam and Eve, they yielded to the temptation of Satan (a fallen angel who had rebelled against God) and sinned against God. All of us have followed in their fallen sinful ways that separates from God and leads to eternal separation from Him to a place the Bible calls Hell. -- from Arthur Blesset's Message to the World. The official site provides information about the man and his ministry. Visitors can listed to a few audio messages that Arthur has prepared, or read Arthur's Message to the World. Other files include a History of the Cross, News Updates, Journey Photos, Interesting Facts, and Arthur's Memories). Arthur has carried the cross through 252 countries and 7 continents, and is closing in on the 32,000 mile mark. Now, 55 years old, he received Jesus as his personal Saviour and Lord when he was seven. Take time to visit this site. It will be a ministry to you. Highly Recommended.
ARTHURIAN LEGEND PAGE
The Legend of King Arthur and his court at Camelot has been one of the most enduring tales in western literature. Stories of his personal life, his knights, and the glory of his battles have been passed down for generations. Although King Arthur dreamed of peace and order, his life was marked with tragedy and ended in chaos. King Arthur's wife did not love him; his best friend betrayed him; and his own son killed him. The tale is so fascinating that each generation of writers returns to the popular imagery of the Legend. The earliest stories of King Arthur center on the achievements of the King and his knights in battle. Women were minor characters, if they were included at all. They were not mentioned except at the end of a battle, when the men needed to be treated for their injuries. As the legend evolved, so did the role of women. -- from the introduction, The Changing Role of Women In the Arthurian Legend, by Terra Collver, Thesis, Concordia University (Mequon, WI), 1996. Also included are a Chronology of Arthurian Literature, an Arthur Bibliography, and links to related internet sites. Read, and enjoy.
