file: /pub/resources/software/mac/Morning.Star: 00readme.ms.txt --------------------------------------------------------------- Files in this directory are .sea (self-extracting archive) files pro- duced with Compact Pro, and have been uploaded under MacBinary II. Please remember to set the binary switch for your downloads for files ending with the .bin file name extension. This Macintosh version of Morning Star Magazine can be viewed with HyperCard Player, located in the ICLnet archives directory, /pub/resources/software/mac/hypercard. You may experience difficulties running Morning Star Magazine under HyperCard Player. I have found the following bugs, and what I believe to be solutions to them. 1. Some versions of Morning Star appear with an unsightly "smudge" upon opening the stack. I have found that opening the stack by double-clicking on the icon for the stack itself avoids this problem. If you wish to open the stacks from within the pro- gram I suggest that you remove the home card file. It seems to be contributing to this problem. If you remove the home card, the program will prompt you, asking where home is. At that point select the file you wish to open. 2. Running the stacks hides the menu bar at the top of the screen. To get the menu bar back, click on the desktop. To get the menu bar for HyperCard Player back, click on the HyperCard Player window again. I am busy looking for a more suitable freeware application to run HyperCard stacks. If anyone knows where I might locate one, that would be a great help. ________________________________________________________________ Gary Bogart (gbogart@iclnet93.iclnet.org, gsb1@cornell.edu) Not Just Bibles..., ICLnet NJB Reading Room, Pointing the Way... From Vol. 3.4, Morning Star Magazine: ÒTHE PURPOSE of Morning Star is to carry out the command of the Lord Christ Jesus, recorded in Matthew 28:19: "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations" Morning Star is a Christian publication grounded in the deity of Christ and the inerrancy of Scripture. The major intent of the editors is first, the giving out the message of the Gospel, "For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures," 1 Cor. 15:3-4. And second, to provide material to help the believer grow in the Christian walk, through articles in the areas of Bible teaching and Bible application, focusing on all aspects of life.
