Moody Institute of Science Video. 1992. 66 min. $14.95. It has been said that the wisest of human engineers could not improve the control system found in the tail of a common squirrel. Similar statements could be made while observing the inhabitants of any pond, field or wilderness. God has left His indelible signature on every member of the animal kingdom with which we share this planet. You will be amazed at the mysterious migrations of the Pacific salmon and the monarch butterfly's annual 2,000 mile journey from Canada to Mexico. You'll visit the inside of a honeycomb to learn the language of bees. Watch spiders spin webs stronger than steel. Throughout the animal kingdom, God's provision and craftsmanship are widely displayed. Fossil Evidence of Creation - The Footsteps of Leviathan. American Portrait Films. 1996. 27 min. $19.95. Presents new evidence of the Genesis Flood. Evolutionists claim that dinosaurs became extinct millions and millions of years ago; yet blood cells and DNA in unfossilized dinosaur bones suggest something far more recent. Experts consider evidence that the fossil record was laid down recently, thus supporting the Biblical account of creation. Featured in this video are Drs. Andrew Snelling, Steven Austin, and Gary Parker. Grand Canyon Catastrophe. American Portrait Films. 1996. 27 min. $19.95. See how the Scriptures and Native Indian legends point to a world- wide flood that carved the Grand Canyon and sculpted the Canyonlands. Was the Grand Canyon formed rapidly or over a long period of time? Leading creation scientists present evidence for the "Breached Dam Theory" that ancient lakes drained catastrophically through the Grand Canyon. Featured in this video are Drs. John Morris, Duane Gish, Steven Austin, and Andrew Snelling. Grand Canyon: Monument to the Flood. Institute for Creation Research Video. 1993. 55 min. $19.95. Beautifully produced video featuring a creationist interpretation of the formation of the Grand Canyon and the Colorado Plateau. Features five creationist geologists and exciting footage taken on an ICR Grand Canyon Adventure. Human Life: Crown of Creation. Moody Institute of Science Video. 1992. 62 min. $14.95. The well-known Greek writer, Sophocles, wrote, "Numberless are the world's wonders, but none are more wonderful than man, himself." Sophocles' timeless words still ring true, for human life exists as the crowning achievement of God's creation. As you watch, carefully consider the unimaginable complexity and potential of the human brain, the architectural masterwork of the hand and skeletal system, and the incredible durability of the heart. In the human body, God's creative power expresses its magnificent dimension. But there is far more to the miracle of the human experience than the wonders of body and mind. God has made each of us for the highest purpose of all, to know and enjoy His love and care forever. In the Beginning - Catastrophic Plate Tectonics and the Genesis Flood. American Portrait Films. 1996. 27 min. $19.95. A beautiful documentary using a new computer model of catastrophic plate tectonics showing division of the supercontinent, which supports the Genesis Account of the Great Flood. Five creation scientists show the likelihood of the rapid formation of the earth's crust, swift development of rocks and strata, and the plausible idea of a recent earth. Excellent material, attractively presented. This video features Drs. John Baumgardner, Andrew Snelling, Russell Humphreys, Larry Vardiman, and Steven Austin. Raging Waters - Evidence of the Genesis Flood in Australia. American Portrait Films. 1998. 28 min. $19.95. Evolutionary science claims that no major catastrophes have struck the earth in recent times, yet legends of Australian Aborigines speak of catastrophic events in recent history. This video presents evidence that Uluru, a massive outcrop in the flat desert of Australia’s outback, was formed rapidly and recently in torrential flooding. Folded strata, ripple marks, marine fossils in high mountain ranges, and the rapid formation of coal, mineral ores, and opals all point to a recent cataclysm, when the vast land of Australia was swept by raging waters. The video features geologists Dr. Andrew Snelling, Dr. Graeme Watmuff, and Philip Hohnen. Books ^^^^^ (The) Amazing Story of Creation. Duane T. Gish. 1991. Institute for Creation Research, 112 pages. $18.95 (hard cover). With a hard cover for durability and beautifully illustrated, this is a book the entire family will enjoy. It covers such topics as "Who Made the Stars?", "What about Dinosaurs?", "Did We Come from Adam or the Apes?" Dr. Gish, the world's foremost debater on creation / evolution presents evidence from his wealth of knowledge gained from years of research defending the creationist position. This book is well-suited for ages junior high through adult. Ancient Ice Ages or Gigantic Submarine Landslides? Michael J. Oard. 1997. CRS Monograph Series No. 6. Creation Research Society Books, 130 pages. $21.00 Mainstream scientists present many challenges to creationists. One of the main geological challenges are the pre-Pleistocene ice ages, which group into four main periods of geological time: 1) mid Precambrian, 2) late Precambrian, 3) late Ordovician, and 4) late Paleozoic. Their evidence consists of hardened till-like rocks associated with other "diagnostic" features sandwiched between sedimentary rocks. How can an ice age occur in Flood sediments or, as some creationists believe, in pre-Flood sediments for the Precambrian cases? Davis Young in _Christianity and the Age of the Earth_, pages 90-91, considers pre-Pleistocene ice ages one of the main geological arguments against the Genesis Flood. In this compact book, the hypothesis of pre-Pleistocene ice ages is analyzed and challenged, and an alternative is presented: gigantic submarine landslides during the catastrophic Flood. (The) Argument: Creationism Vs. Evolutionism. Wilbert H. Rusch, Sr. 1984. Creation Research Society Monograph Series No. 3. Creation Research Society Books, 87 pages. $8.95. This book is an excellent introduction to the fundamental issues surrounding the creation vs. evolution battle. Written by a former CRS president and college professor, a concise history of the evolutionary concept is provided. The two models, creation and evolution, are compared along with a discussion of the basics of scientific inquiry. The limits to variation possible in nature are explored, and the fossil record is examined to show which model best fits the evidence. This monograph, and its companion volume (Origins: What Is at Stake?), will interest both the layperson and the scientist. Astronomy and the Bible: Questions and Answers. Donald B. DeYoung. 1988. Baker Book House, 146 pages. $7.95. What is a black hole? Is there life in space? Which is the best telescope to buy? This book is a concise summary of creationist astronomy in a question/answer format. "How refreshing and rare to find an astronomy book where God's Word, not scientific theory, finds preeminence" (Christian Retailing). This book can be given to students without any fear of corrupting their faith in Scripture. It makes a welcome companion to more technical creationist presentations such as Design and Origins in Astronomy. Its six chapters provide an unusually large amount of information in a very readable style. The book contains a glossary in addition to Scripture and subject indices. Astronomy and Creation - An Introduction. Donald B. DeYoung. 1995. Creation Research Society Books, 59 pages. $4.95. This volume is the first in a series of concise studies giving an overview of a particular topic, in this case astronomy. The heavens (as well as the earth itself) declare the clear message of creation. The vast distances and numberless stars of deep space are simply beyond our comprehension. Among all the sciences, surely astronomy is the best teacher of humility. What then do the heavens teach us from a creation perspective? This book considers five particular areas: origins, order, structure, time scale, and change. The reader will find this treatment of "outer space" to be a refreshing alternative to much of today's scientific thinking. This book is the first in a series of short, introductory texts published by the Creation Research Society. The second, _Physical Science and Creation - An Introduction_, was also written by Dr. DeYoung. (The) Case for the Existence of God. Bert Thompson and Wayne Jackson. 1996. Apologetics Press, 82 pages. $3.95. Either God exists, or He does not; there is no middle ground. The theist affirms that God does exist; the atheist affirms that He does not. Who is correct? In this volume the authors establish the logical case for the existence of God using evidence from a variety of sources, including design in the Universe, design in the human body, the moral and ethical nature of man, etc. The authors also provide a well-reasoned answer to the unbeliever's "argument from suboptimality." (A) Case for Creation, third edition. Wayne Frair and Percival Davis. 1983. ACE Press, 155 pages. $7.95. The doctrine of evolution is the creation of men of genius. To underestimate it and its impact is dangerous. Creationists must set forth a case for creation with all the care and skill a lawyer would use before a skeptical jury. One purpose of this book is to formulate such ideas logically, and to present them effectively and constructively. A second purpose is to encourage Christians to engage in laboratory and field research in order to complete some of creation's unfinished business. Concise treatment of the evidence from comparative anatomy, embryology, biochemistry, geology and genetics make this book an excellent introduction to the creation/evolution controversy. The book has been designed principally for the informed layman and students in early years of their scientific training. Catastrophes in Earth History: A Source Book of Geologic Evidence, Speculation and Theory. Steven A. Austin. 1984. Institute for Creation Research, 318 pages. $13.95. The concept that the earth has evolved to its present configuration only through the action of gradual processes is flawed. In this monograph Dr. Austin discusses gradualism and catastrophism, noting some of the failures of uniformitarianism. Then in the following chapters he catalogues many specific geologic catastrophes that have affected the earth. Recent events are described as well, such as the eruption and subsequent rapid changes at Mount St. Helens, and the formation and development of Surtsey Island. This work is a valuable source book for students of earth history, offering a refreshing antidote to an overdose of uniformitarianism and gradualism so prevalent in geological circles. Creation and Time: A Report on the Progressive Creationist Book by Hugh Ross. Mark Van Bebber and Paul S. Taylor. 1994. Films for Christ, 128 pages. $7.00. From the Bible, authors Van Bebber and Taylor bring to the reader a revealing critique of Progressive Creationism's most visible proponent, Dr. Hugh Ross. Not only does Ross claim that the biblical Flood was local, not global, but he also teaches that death and bloodshed existed for billions of years prior to Adam and Eve's sin. Dr. Ross contends that the simplest reading of Genesis reveals overlapping Creation "days" of billions of years beginning with the "Big Bang." He charges that those Christians who believe otherwise are out of touch with reality and are making it nearly impossible for modern people to accept the Bible and Christ. Van Bebber and Taylor bring careful and accurate biblical study to bear on each of these claims (and many more), revealing numerous errors in theology and misuse of Hebrew. In an increasingly secularized society where the Bible is being reinterpreted at point after point, many will find this to be a significant and helpful book. Creationist Research (1964-1988). Duane T. Gish. 1989. Creation Research Society, 30 pages (8.5 x 11). $4.95. Often one hears anti-creationists claim that creationists do not conduct research. The author of this treatise plainly shows that such statements are not true. All the field and laboratory work reported in the Creation Research Society Quarterly during the period from 1964 through 1988 is reviewed. It is amazing that, without any government grants, and without support from any university or scientific organizations except the Creation Research Society, creationists have produced a substantial amount of evidence to support their scientific model of origins. All areas of science are covered in the review. Research on creationist topics is not only possible, but has been effectively carried out. This volume is quite interesting and eye-opening! Creation or Evolution: Correspondence on the Current Conflict. Edward O. Dodson and George F. Howe. 1990. University of Ottawa Press, 171 pages. $17.95 Over a five-year period, two biologists who had never met in person exchanged nearly 50 letters on the subject of origins. Dodson, a Roman Catholic, defended theistic evolution, while Howe, a Baptist, favored a rapid creation in six real days. This book will interest those who study the creation/evolution conflict in both scientific and religious realms. Creation Scientists Answer Their Critics. Duane T. Gish. 1993. Master Books, 460 pages. $16.95. Having challenged the humanistic religion of evolution, creation scientists have frequently endured the vicious attacks of those who endorse the theory of evolution. Creation's most respected debater examines the major arguments for and against special creation. In so doing, CRS board member Dr. Duane Gish, defends creation scientists against the distorted, inaccurate attacks of evolutionists. This book provides a fascinating account of the battle between opposing world views. Darwin's Black Box: The Biochemical Challenge to Evolution. Michael J. Behe. 1996. The Free Press (Simon & Schuster), 307 pages. $25.00 (hard cover). The author, though not a creationist, argues persuasively that biochemical machines must have been designed -- either by God, or by some other higher intelligence. Using the examples of vision, blood clotting, cilia, the immune system, and more, Behe demonstrates that each such system functions as an "irreducibly complex," finely-calibrated molecular machine. Like a mouse trap, each interacting part is indispensable for the functioning of the system. If any one of the parts is removed, the system no longer functions. Behe's basic thesis is this: Since any precursor to an irreducibly complex system is by definition nonfunctional, an irreducibly complex system cannot "evolve"; i.e., it cannot arise gradually by slight, successive modifications of the precursor via a Darwinian process. Defeating Darwinism by Opening Minds. Phillip E. Johnson. 1997. Intervarsity Press, 131 pages. $15.00 (hard cover). With all of the complicated scientific debate swirling around the topic of evolution, is there an easy way to understand the basic issues without oversimplifying? Phillip Johnson says there is: the key to defeating the false claims of Darwinism is to open our minds to good thinking habits. Here is first-rate advice on avoiding common mistakes in discussions about evolution, understanding the legacy of the Scopes trial, spotting deceptive arguments, and grasping the basic scientific issues without getting bogged down in unnecessary details. In his two previous bestselling books, Johnson exposed in careful detail the misleading claims of evolutionary naturalism. His newest book, Defeating Darwinism, provides a new and powerful treatment of these issues for high-school students, parents, teachers, pastors, youth advisors, and ordinary readers. Johnson aims not just to defeat a bad theory, but to defeat it the right way - by opening minds to the truth. Design and Origins in Astronomy. Edited by George Mulfinger, Jr. 1983. CRS Monograph Series No. 2. Creation Research Society Books, 151 pages. $8.95. This book presents a teleological study of the universe - a creationist challenge to modern materialistic thought. Written in the 1970's, many of the arguments remain valid in the 1990's and are of historical as well as scientific interest. Authors include George Mulfinger, Donald DeYoung, John Whitcomb, Emmett Williams, Paul Steidl, and Paul Wilt. A wide range of topics is presented - initial state of the universe, a thermodynamics approach, the red shift controversy, nucleosynthesis, and creationist views concerning the origin of the solar system and the universe - as well as a Scriptural framework for astronomy. Did Charles Darwin Become a Christian? Wilbert H. Rusch, Sr. and John W. Klotz. 1988. Creation Research Society Books, 38 pages. $4.95. The evolutionary hypothesis is the intellectual basis of humanism, socialism, and many radical movements of the last 125 years. Untold damage has been done to mankind as a result of this pseudoscientific idea. The man who was given credit as the scientific trailblazer of the "modern" concept was Charles Darwin. Yet for over 50 years, gospel tracts have been circulated with the message that Charles Darwin accepted Christianity and believed the Bible in the latter months of his life. Rusch and Klotz examine these claims against the letters and manuscripts of Darwin and his son. The reader can reach his own conclusions in this matter. Darwin's last hours and his religious beliefs are carefully reviewed. Evolution: The Fossils Still Say No! Duane T. Gish. 1996. Institute for Creation Research, 391 pages. $12.95. Dr. Gish wrote his first book on evolution and the fossil record some 24 years ago. This book is vastly enlarged and thoroughly updated, making it essentially a brand new treatment of the subject. It is undoubtedly the most thorough and well-documented critique ever published on the supposed paleontological and anthropological evidences for evolution. With devastating facts and logic, Dr. Gish documents in detail, from the writings of evolutionists themselves, the complete absence of any true evolutionary transitional forms among the billions of fossilized animals in the earth's sedimentary rocks. Indeed, the fossil record offers compelling evidence for the special creation of man and each basic kind of plant and animal. Every creationist will want to read this book. Genesis and the Dinosaur. Erich A. von Fange. 1990. Living Word Services, 311 pages. $15.95. Dr. Erich von Fange presents a view of how the pre-Flood world may have appeared. At the same time, in a non-technical manner, he apprises the reader of considerable information about dinosaurs, including theories of dinosaur extinction and ancient petroglyphs of dinosaur-like animals. He adheres strictly to the inerrancy of the Bible, and points to possible ways that fossil dinosaur data may fit with the Scriptural record. The book does not read like a science text, but more like a history book. This is a very readable book for both creationist laymen and specialists. (The) Genesis Flood. Henry M. Morris and John C. Whitcomb. 1961. Institute for Creation Research, 518 pages. $14.00. Truly, a creationist classic. This is the book which many recognize as having started the modern revival of creationism and catastrophism. Although it has gone through over 32 printings, it is still the most definitive treatment of the Biblical and scientific evidences of the global flood in the days of Noah. Helping Children Understand Genesis and the Dinosaur. Erich A. von Fange. 1992. Living Word Services, 208 pages. $12.95. The author is well qualified to write a book such as this. Not only has he spent many years studying problems relating to Genesis and dinosaurs, but also he has a lifetime of experience as an educator. The book was produced especially for Christian parents and their children, as well as pastors and teachers. Writing from the standpoint of firsthand observation of dinosaur remains both in the field and in museums, he captures the interest of the advanced science student as well as the general reader. History of Modern Creationism. (2nd ed.). Henry M. Morris. 1993. Institute for Creation Research, 444 pages. $12.95. The definitive background and history of the modern reawakening of interest in creation as opposed to evolution. Newly updated to include recent developments in this worldwide renaissance of scientific and Biblical creationism. Contains some autobiographical material as this history is traced from the perspective of a sympathetic insider. Foreword by Dr. John Whitcomb. Contains 35 illustrations, plus complete indexes and several appendices, including a listing of all known current creation organizations. Index and Guide to Volumes 21-28 of the Creation Research Society Quarterly. Compiled by Glen W. Wolfrom. 1992. Creation Research Society, 34 pages. $4.95. This guide to the CRS Quarterly, from June 1984 through March 1992, is a valuable companion to the Quarterly itself. Where has the Quarterly discussed moon dust, "Lucy," Archaeopteryx, snowflakes, fossil pollen, or the Book of Job? What books have been reviewed? Where was that article about "Ostrich Feathers and Horse Feathers"? This publication will help you locate such information. Included in the Guide are indexes for key words, Scriptures, and authors, as well as a complete listing of titles (articles, Panorama of Science, and letters) and books reviewed. Modern Creation Trilogy: Volume I, Scripture and Creation; Volume II, Science and Creation; Volume III, Society and Creation. Henry M. Morris and John D. Morris. 1996. Institute for Creation Research, approx. 825 pages total (available only as boxed set). $34.95. This three-volume set, the definitive work on the study of origins from a creationist perspective, examines the evidences for both evolution and special creation. Volume I thoroughly covers all the Biblical evidences and applications of literal creationism. Volume II contains well-documented treatments of the abundant, strictly scientific evidence supporting creation and disproving evolution. Volume III presents the major impact of creationism or evolutionism on human life and society, today and throughout history. To make the study of the Modern Creation Trilogy even easier, a FREE CD-ROM is included. (The) Natural Limits to Biological Change. Lane P. Lester and Raymond G. Bohlin. 1984. Zondervan Publishing House / Probe Ministries, 207 pages. $12.95. This study is a careful evaluation of Neo-Darwinism and its challenger, punctuated equilibrium, as models for the evolution of life on earth. Neo-Darwinists hold that organisms are able to respond to only minor fluctuations in their environments, and that evolution is a gradual process. The absence of evidence for gradualism in the fossil record inspired the punctuated equilibrium view which seeks to explain the history of life as it seems to be recorded by the fossils. In this view, evolution is believed to occur at an erratic pace, with selection acting on the species as well as the individual. The primary weakness of this position is the absence of credible biologic mechanisms. The evidence in favor of limited change leads to "Another Alternative," which is the title of the book's last chapter. Creation is shown to provide the best fit with both the fossil record and known biologic processes. Noah's Ark: A Feasibility Study. John Woodmorappe. 1996. Institute for Creation Research, 298 pages. $21.95. This remarkable book is the most compete analysis ever published regarding the gathering of animals to the Ark, provisions for their care and feeding, and the subsequent dispersion. The author has devoted seven years to this scholarly, systematic answer to virtually all the anti-Ark arguments, alleged difficulties with the biblical account, and other relevant questions. Nothing else like this has ever written before - an unanswerable vindication of Genesis. Of Pandas and People: The Central Question of Biological Origins, second edition. Percival Davis and Dean H. Kenyon. 1993. Haughton Publishing Company, 170 pages. $17.95 (hard cover). Intended for use as a supplemental textbook in public schools, this carefully-written book presents a definitive rationale for an alternative theory on biological origins - intelligent design. Although it has no biblical content, this book gives Creationist interpretations for classic evidences usually found in standard public school science books supporting evolution. All students of the biological sciences will appreciate the easy-to-understand explanations and arguments for intelligent refutation of evolution theory. This book is beautifully illustrated and thoroughly researched. (The) Origin of Species Revisited: The Theories of Evolution and of Abrupt Appearance. Wendell R. Bird. 1989. Philosophical Library, 1,114 pages (two volumes). $59.95 (hard covers). The Origin of Species Revisited is, in the words of an evolutionist, "A veritable warehouse of useful information ... amassing responsibly the scientific findings that pose difficulties for evolutionary hypotheses ... an important and much-needed piece of work." W.R. Bird, who argued the major case on the issue of evolution versus creation and abrupt appearance before the U.S. Supreme Court, presents an in-depth comparison of the two theories in two volumes. Volume I assesses the scientific claims of these two chief views concerning origins. It outlines a scientific theory of abrupt appearance based on affirmative scientific evidence in the biological, biochemical, and cosmic realms. The book then examines evolution, quoting some 2500 scholarly sources (all evolutionists) on anomalies or problem areas. Volume II discusses the philosophical, theological, historical, educational, and constitutional aspects of origins, with another 3000 scholarly sources. Origins: What Is at Stake? Wilbert H. Rusch, Sr. 1991. Creation Research Society Monograph Series No. 5. Creation Research Society Books, 73 pages. $8.95. The author carefully explains how an acceptance of evolutionism completely destroys one's ability to rely on Scripture. Definitions are given for many of the terms needed to understand the battle for the minds of men in this area. The Scripturally- related concepts discussed are the doctrine of God, the doctrine of the Holy Scriptures, verbal inspiration, concept of miracles, the nature of man, doctrine of original sin, and the Flood. In addition to the Scriptural applications, Rusch also explores such scientific concepts as evidences for the Flood, the species problem, fossils, design, and the origin of life. This is a companion volume to Monograph No. 3, The Argument: Creationism Vs. Evolutionism. Physical Science and Creation - An Introduction. Don B. DeYoung. 1995. Creation Research Society Books, 80 pages. $4.95. In this small volume are several carefully chosen topics illustrating the integration of physical science and creation. Dr. DeYoung presents not only the classical subject matter of physical science (the building blocks of nature, motion and forces, gravity, energy, and light), but he also touches briefly on more modern topics such as radiometric dating, quantum theory, the uncertainty principle, and relativity. This book is the second in a series of short, introductory texts published by the Creation Research Society. The first, _Astronomy and Creation - An Introduction_, was also written by Dr. DeYoung. Science and Biblical Faith: A Science Documentary. Thomas G. Barnes. 1993. Thomas G. Barnes (pub.), 191 pages. $12.00. In reminding us that the very foundations of science were established by men with faith in Jesus Christ and the Bible, Thomas Barnes discusses the research and biblical faith of past scientists such as Kepler, Newton, Pasteur, Kelvin, Faraday, and Maxwell, among others. A number of more recent scientists are also presented together with their contributions to science in general and to creationism in particular. The guiding postulate for all of these scientists, it is shown, is that God's revelation is the very beginning of absolute truth, and that any valid scientific hypothesis must therefore rest upon this premise. The book then proceeds to demonstrate what can emanate from those who are guided by this presupposition. Science and the Bible: 30 Scientific Demonstrations Illustrating Scriptural Truths. Donald B. DeYoung. 1994. Baker Books, 110 pages. $6.95. Techniques to demonstrate both scientific and scriptural principles are presented in a manner useful to Christian teachers, home-schoolers, pastors, and youth workers. A list of materials and careful instructions are provided for each project, together with a Bible verse and lesson to emphasize a scriptural theme. These techniques can hold the attention of adults as well as young people in this visual age. Scientific Studies in Special Creation. Edited by Walter E. Lammerts. 1971. Creation Research Society, 343 pages. $9.95. Articles have been carefully selected from volumes 1-5 of the Creation Research Society Quarterly to provide coverage of several philosophical and theological topics. Also included are discussions of energy, radioactive dating techniques, stratigraphy, genetics, population statistics, natural selection, homology, analogy, biochemistry, and botany from a comprehensive creationist perspective. Authors of chapters are Harold Armstrong, Thomas Barnes, Clifford Burdick, Harold Coffin, Melvin Cook, Duane Gish, George Howe, Walter Lammerts, Frank Marsh, Henry Morris, and John Whitcomb. This is an excellent reference book on creationist science and philosophy. Speak to the Earth: Creation Studies in Geoscience. Edited by George F. Howe. 1975. Creation Research Society, 463 pages. $13.95. Containing 26 geoscience papers published in the Creation Research Society Quarterly from June 1969 to March 1974, this volume is a valuable tool for those who wish to study historical geology from a creationist and catastrophist vantage. It demonstrates that creationists have performed experiments and that they have in fact carried out "creation research" in earth science. Included among the authors are Steve Austin, Clifford Burdick, Frank Cousins, Wilbert Rusch, Walter Peters, Henry Morris, Thomas Barnes, Harold Slusher, Robert Whitelaw, George Mulfinger, and Emmett Williams. Among the topics presented are paleontology, Flood geology (catastrophism), geological studies indicating a young earth, astronomy, and thermodynamics. This book is an ideal reference work for the creationist geologist. Starlight and Time: Solving the Puzzle of Distant Starlight in a Young Universe. D. Russell Humphreys. 1994. Master Books, 133 pages. $5.95. Using concepts from the general theory of relativity, Dr. Humphreys has derived a young earth cosmology which offers an explanation for the existence of "old" starlight in a young universe. The author compares his hypothesis to previous creationist explanations for the existence of starlight that should have required millions of years to reach the earth. Defects in the "big bang" theory are noted as well. Studies in Flood Geology: A Compilation of Research Studies Supporting Creation and the Flood. John Woodmorappe. 1993. Institute for Creation Research, ca. 200 pages. $12.95. Over the years the author has developed a unique model, based upon the Genesis Flood, for the distribution of land vertebrates, stratigraphic separation of fossils, supposed correlation of the geological column, dating methods, and other matters important to flood geology and creationism. Originally published in the Creation Research Society Quarterly and presented at the International Conferences on Creationism, these materials have been combined into this single volume. This work is intended for the serious student of flood geology. Teaching Creation Science in Public Schools. Duane T. Gish. 1995. Institute for Creation Research, 70 pages. $4.95. There is a vast body of well-established scientific evidence that supports creation while exposing fallacies and weaknesses in evolutionary theory. It is unconscionable to indoctrinate public school young people in evolutionary theory while denying them the opportunity to consider even the scientific evidence for creation that thousands of scientists have found to be compelling. This book details the scientific, pedagogical, and legal foundation for teaching the scientific evidence for creation in public schools. That Their Words May Be Used Against Them. Henry M. Morris. Institute for Creation Research. 1997. 487 pages. $21.95. This storehouse of useful quotes was compiled by Dr. Henry Morris as a result of over 50 years of study of the evolutionary literature. The book contains more than 2900 individual quotes from more than 1000 different writers. The collection has been organized into 15 chapters of three sections each. For each of the 45 sections Dr. Morris has written an explanation of its relevance to the creation-evolution questions. To enhance study, a FREE, searchable CD-ROM is included. The book is in 8.5x11 inch format with a hard cover. Thermodynamics and the Development of Order. Edited by Emmett L. Williams. 1981. CRS Monograph Series No. 1. Creation Research Society, 141 pages. $8.95. This volume is a definitive creationist presentation of thermodynamics in relation to the creation-evolution controversy. The topics are explored both scientifically and philosophically. Do the laws of thermodynamics prohibit evolutionary molecules-to- man development? Are there scientific barriers to postulated evolutionary improvement processes? Does a creationist interpretation fit the laws of thermodynamics better than a mechanistic approach? These questions are answered by authors Emmett Williams, George Mulfinger, Harold Armstrong, Duane Gish, David Boylan, Ralph Ancil, and Henry Morris. Other topics covered are development and stability of order, thermodynamics and evolution, fluctuations as a mechanism of ordering living systems, DNA and RNA formation, and theological implications of the laws of thermodynamics. "Vestigial Organs" Are Fully Functional. Jerry Bergman and George Howe. 1990. CRS Monograph Series No. 4. Creation Research Society, 97 pages. $10.95. Coccyx - tonsils - appendix - cecum - goose bumps - etc. - Evolutionists still assert that many structures in the bodies of animals and people (and even in plants) are useless remnants, i.e., "vestiges," of organs which functioned only in evolutionary ancestors. Bergman and Howe have produced a review of those arguments and a reply in which they show that these supposed "remnants of evolution" play important roles and should not be considered as useless vestiges. This book is a must for medical doctors and students who have been exposed to the vestigial organ argument in support of evolution. Weather and the Bible. Donald B. DeYoung. 1992.
